The ALLERGAN MD CODES derived from the clinical experience of Brazilian plastic surgeon Dr. Mauricio de Maio, are strategic injection sites for hyaluronic acid, or treatment codes designed to optimize results in a simple, effective, and safe manner.

Only a few French doctors have the privilege of meeting with Dr DE MAIO every year.

This training congress is reserved exclusively to French medical aesthetic experts and is designed to familiarize providers with the MD CODES approach, a veritable revolution in facial analysis and diagnosis.

There are only a few doctors who perfectly master this fascinating technique.

MD CODES are a breakthrough evolution in aesthetic medicine, designed to better understand the needs of patients. They were set up to bring attention to the fact that each anatomical unit (cheeks, chin, lips, under eye circles or bags, cheekbones, nose etc.) includes sub-units. These sub-units (MD CODES) are the points which are receptive to creating or recreating the most appropriate facial architecture for our patients.

By mastering the terminology and specific MD CODES schemas, we can now standardize the treatments and better understand the complexity of the face.

What are the MD CODES equations?

The MD CODES equations concentrate on one specific facial site or unit and are broken down into several different MD CODES. For example, drooping eyebrows makes people look tired. To improve this negative sign, we must treat 1 unit at a time, the eyebrows, then the temples.

Consequently, the MD CODES equation for drooping eyebrows is composed of MD CODES corresponding to the eyebrows and temples.

These MD CODES equations are mere indications since the treatment must always be adapted to the patient’s individual needs.

What are MD Codes Formulas?

The MD CODES formulas combine all the MD CODES equations which define a specific emotional attribute.

One formula per emotional attribute, for all facial units to be evaluated in the overall facial treatment plan.

For example, to look less tired, we must perhaps treat other zones besides the drooping eyebrows and if necessary, treat under eye bags or circles or sagging cheeks.

In fact, each formula involves a combination which refers to a treatment plan that is specific to one emotional attribute.

Of course, all these treatment plans are adapted to the individual needs of the patient. MD CODES formulas are guides to identify facial regions and set a kickoff point for the overall individualized treatment plan.

Finally, there is often a significant gap between the areas that patients think they can treat and the results they imagine. By understanding their emotions, guided by the MD CODES, we can then propose a satisfying treatment road map, customized to each patient.

What are Emotional Attributes?

My patients often show me a facial zone or feature that they want to correct. However, I know it rarely refers to the main cause of their dissatisfaction.

In fact, they only see what disturbs them: a deep wrinkle, a highly visible fold… without being aware that if only the wrinkle or fold is treated, the results will be dissatisfying and disappointing.

I ask my patients how they feel to reveal the real sources of their unhappiness, and thus I can set up a treatment road map which responds to their predicament.  Do you think you look tired or sad?

Do you wish you looked slimmer or younger?

These emotional dimensions are the precise indicators of the zones which will have a positive impact on the patient’s face ,and constitute a new overall approach to facial rejuvenation treatments through aesthetic medicine in an altogether natural way.

 8 emotional attributes exist:

How To Treat These Emotional Attributes

Often, patients come to see me to improve an emotional attribute (femininity, youthfulness, beauty…)

My role as a medical aesthetic expert is to propose an adapted and sequenced treatment road map. First, reduce the negative messages (less saggy, less sad, less angry, less tired) and help to strengthen the positive emotional attributes (slimmer, younger, more feminine and more beautiful).

For example, a patient who looks tired, certain flaws may exist around and under the eyes (periorbital and infraorbital anatomical units).

The tired look is often characterized by these very zones. By analyzing facial architecture, we can thus identify the MD CODES which will be conducive to effectively treating the targeted emotional attributes.
